One Month Later

I had to ponder the decision as to whether I saved this mare only to
euthanize her because of her health issues or give her a chance.
Well, I am so glad that I decided to give her some time.
She is steadily gaining weight, and she is just a joy to be around.
Can you tell a difference?
I know that Scarlett still looks pretty bad, her baldness doesn't help, but I see a beautiful mare.
I realize that some people have questioned the pictures taken of under her tail, I am only showing them because this really shows her body condition and the improvement.

The best thing about the day these pictures were taken is Scarlett running to catch Bones who was being led to another pasture. She had her head held high and was moving. I never thought I'd see that. She is so much happier now and it is a beautiful sight. I can't wait to see the entire transformation!

Man I just smile at what me and julie and everyone at the barn are doing for this girl, she is coming around and gaining her weight just like bones did! It brings back memmories for when bones was like that but worse! Go Scarlet!!!

Her ventral edema appears improved as well.
I am overjoyed at her progress and thank you for sharing her with us.
Don't worry about her hair. Her body has more important things to do with her nutrition

I overheard Logan say that the baldness could be a delayed stress response to the situation she was living in. She's really looking good. She and Bones have just finished up their first round bale. They are so cute together.

She looks so much better! I love the life in her eyes and posture. WAY TO GO to both Scarlet and the people that she owns!
